This is our review of Opera Beneath The Stars at Liverpool‘s Bombed Out Church. Now, this theatre show is part of Liverpool Theatre Festival 2022. So, let’s take a look at Opera Beneath The Stars!
Description Of Opera Beneath The Stars
This is a brilliant evening covering incredible operatic and classical musical hits. So, with several national and international stars on hand, the standard for this production is sky-high. Furthermore, there is live piano accompaniment helping to cover the most popular and heart-warming songs. These stem from Grand Opera, Modern Classical and Musical, Operetta and Neapolitan Song, and Modern Classical. So, come along for a world-class and breathtaking night with fabulous music ideal for opera-lovers new and old.
Analysis Of Opera Beneath The Stars
The show would begin by acknowledging the death of Queen Elizabeth II with a minute’s silence. We would also hear a rendition of God Save The King for King Charles III. Coming within hours of the sad news, this was a powerful moment and added historical significance to this particular performance.
As for the main performance, the cast treated us to a vast array of operatic numbers. Roy Locke, Leigh Rhianon Coggins, and Augusta Knopov were excellent from start to finish. Not forgetting the superb piano accompaniment of Pet Neilsen. We experienced numbers ranging in tone and language, from amusing to tear-jerking, from German to Italian to English.
Unlike previous LTF performances for this show, we had a complete two-part production that covered every significant operatic song possible. The incredible lighting projections and the exquisite dresses only added to the high-class feel of the evening. And the final song, Nessun Dorma, was a fitting end to a very memorable and enjoyable performance.
