Description Of Psychic Sally
Camera
Sally bounces onto the stage, very smart and full of energy belying her maturity. She is very engaging and put the (mainly female) audience at ease straight away. Sally has almost continually toured since 2008 and her confidence shows.
A large screen at the back of the stage, projected information about Sally. It also illustrated the many ways to contact her and follow her on social media. As well as encouraging ‘text to win’, a personal reading and download her app, it also advertised her new brand of perfume!
During the performance, a cameraman situated on the stage, captured the interviews with audience members who were encouraged to stand up when contacted. The house lights were left on throughout for her to see them.
Action
The format of the show is for Sally to provide messages and connect with the audience as a conduit from the spirit world. Prior to the show, audience members are able to drop notes ‘love letters’ and photographs relating to their loved ones. These are then selected from time to time during the show.
The show also attempts to bring mediumship into the 21st century. There is the opportunity to Whatsapp photographs of loved ones in spirit to Sally. Accordingly, in the second half of the show, a selection of these images appeared on the large screen with Sally passing on messages.
Coming to see Sally live can be an emotional event, testified by the tears of some of the audience members contacting by the spirits of their departed loved ones.
Anybody there?
Some of the contacts were a little hit and miss – others surprisingly accurate. It seemed a shame when messages or connections weren’t picked up. This lead to short, stark silences.
Sally explained in a previous article: ‘I see it all the time. I see people in the audience go to put their hand up, and whoever they’re with, they’ll pull their arm back down. And yet they buy tickets and come to the show, it happens every single show.’ Perhaps people were a little shy to put themselves forward?
One criticism might be to spend a little less time when messages fail to connect with the audience. Move on to try another photograph or message.
Summary Of Psychic Sally
Not exactly an awe-inspiring evening but very entertaining. Sally is a master of her trade. If this brings comfort and reassurance to grieving people then so be it. She encourages hope of the possibility that loved ones who have passed are still nearby. A thought-provoking and entertaining show.
