          Subject

To say that Johnny Cash is an all-time legend within music would be a vast understatement. Indeed, Cash is amongst the most popular singers ever with more than 90 million record sales across the globe. And that’s largely due to his unique vocal talents, providing a mix of clarity and sorrow with clamness and perspective. Perhaps it’s this demeanour and his embracing of free prison concerts which would anoint him as The Man In Black.

Furthermore, his back catalogue has so many stand-out tracks. Amongst them are I Walk The Line, The Ways Of A Woman In Love, Ring Of Fire and Understand Your Man. Not forgetting Rosanna’s Going Wild, Folsom Prison Blues, A Boy Named Sue and A Thing Called Love. Needless to say, it’s a treat for Johnny Cash fans that this show covers all these hits and more!

          Performers

Clive John plays Johnny Cash with true authenticity. More so, John brings his own talents, with eight previous albums including some number one hits within country music. But while Clive plays Cash to perfection, he provides a unique take which fans can only experience when watching live. Meanwhile, Emily Heighway will perform as Cash’s wife, June Carter. Longtime Cash fans will fondly remember Carter, and so this adds an extra dimension to an already-exciting musical show.

          Venue

Liverpool’s Empire Theatre is a true mainstay of the city, ever since the venue’s initial opening in 1866. But a demolition of the original Empire would lead to the modern Empire opening in 1924. From there, the Empire would become a focal point for the UK’s top touring theatre shows. Indeed, so many iconic productions regularly come to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre. Furthermore, the list of performers to grace the Empire stage over the years reads like a who’s who. In addition, the Empire’s location is pivotal, with its positioning directly in front of Lime Street Station. The Empire has a total capacity of 2,381, with frequent sell-outs throughout the annual theatre calendar. Simply put, the Empire Theatre is amongst the UK’s top entertainment venues and an ideal backdrop for a classic night of theatre.

          Tour

The tour kicks off at Palace Theatre in Southend-On-Sea on June 13 2021. From there, the show heads through London, Portsmouth, Huddersfield, Glasgow and Milton Keynes. Also, the show covers Brighton, Lowestoft, Southampton, Wimborne and Basingstoke. It’s at this stage when the show visits Liverpool’s Empire Theatre on September 13 2021. Then, the tour enters Grimsby, Scarborough, Halifax, Clacton-On-Sea, Torquay and Hornchurch, Moving into 2022, the tour entertains Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Richmond, Great Malvern, Blackpool, York, Inverness, Dunfermline and Aberdeen. After that, locations include Port Talbot, Bury St. Edmunds, Epsom, Perth, Solihull, Peterborough, Weston-Super-Mare and Dartford. Finally, the show concludes at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on July 19 2022, with further dates and locations awaiting confirmation.
