The Official RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Series Two Tour

          Background

Liverpool: prepare yourself! Because drag royalty is going to Ru-Turn in 2022 for the UK’s biggest ever RuPaul tour. So, join the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK for an evening of endless eleganza extravaganza and witness the charisma, the uniqueness, the nerve and the talent of your favourite queens live on stage! Furthermore, be ready to see some of your TV favourites as they sashay into a theatre near you. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a night unlike any other!

          Subject

RuPaul’s Drag Race would begin not in the United Kingdom, but in the United States. Indeed, it began in 2009 and enjoyed real success by offering something totally fresh to American viewers. Chief to the success is RuPaul, who enhances the entertainment value with some eye-catching attires and jaw-dropping one-liners. However, the contestants themselves are the real stars, because their attempts to succeed result in some truly hilarious moments. Not least because none of them are afraid to speak their mind, even when the language is choice! Surprisingly, it would only be in 2019 when the franchise would provide a version specifically for the UK. Needless to say that this would also be a smash-hit. And now British fans can see the stars of series two strut their stuff live on stage!

          Cast

All of the contestants in series two will be on hand to leave a lasting impression. For instance, the winner of the second series, Lawrence Chaney, is going to be live on stage for all to see. But let’s not forget the supporting cast; those who just fell short of winning, but nevertheless provided tremendous entertainment. We’re talking about A’Whora, Asttina Mandella, Bimini Bon-Boulash, Cherry Valentine and Ellie Diamond. Furthermore, you will also see Ginny Lemon, Joe Black, Sister Sister, Tayce, Tia Kofi and Veronica Green. Note, however, that the cast is subject to change.

          Venue

Liverpool’s Empire Theatre is a true mainstay of the city, ever since the venue’s initial opening in 1866 but a demolition of the original Empire would lead to the modern Empire opening in 1924. From there, the Empire would become a focal point for the UK’s top touring theatre shows. Indeed, so many iconic productions regularly come to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre. Furthermore, the list of performers to grace the Empire stage over the years reads like a who’s who. In addition, the Empire’s location is pivotal, with its positioning directly in front of Lime Street Station. The Empire has a total capacity of 2,381, with frequent sell-outs throughout the annual theatre calendar. Simply put, the Empire Theatre is amongst the UK’s top entertainment venues and an ideal backdrop for a classic night of theatre.

          Tour

The tour begins at Ipswich Regent Theatre on 1 February 2022. Then, it moves onto Oxford, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Southend, Sheffield, Blackpool, Llandudno, Birmingham and Cardiff. The show arrives at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre on 20 February 2022. Subsequent locations include Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Plymouth, London, Derby, Bristol, Bradford, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Southampton, Stockton, Plymouth, Brighton and Newport. Finally, the tour concludes at Manchester Opera House on 17 April 2022, with future dates and locations awaiting confirmation.
