We welcome the announcement of The Very Hungry Caterpillar coming to Liverpool‘s Playhouse Theatre. The show comes to Liverpool from Thursday July 15 to Saturday July 17 2021. Background
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of the most famous children’s stories. Indeed, Eric Carle’s colourful book delights children and has done so ever since 1969. Furthermore, the book has more than 43 million sales on a global basis so far. And the book mixes iconic colourful hand-painted tissue illustrations with simple stories and intriguing twists. Now, the book makes it to the stage via this show. So, the show features 75 lovably puppets covering this show but also other works of Carle. And they include Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks and The Very Lonely Firefly.
Creatives
Jonathan Rockefeller is the brains behind bringing Eric Carle’s book to the stage. Additionally, David Goldstein handles scenic design, with Nate Edmondson on music and sound, and Rockefeller Productions providing the puppets.
