The New Show – Circus of Horrors – Voodoo
Awoken by an Ouija board, the curse of the Voodoo is causing devastation.
The spectacular features an amazing amalgamation of bizarre and fantastic circus acts; acts all woven into a sensational shock/horror story and the darkest of magic. Taking the show to a whole new level, it’s powered along by a Devil-driven soundscape and, performed with a forked tongue firmly in each cheek, you’ll certainly Die Laughing.
The Circus of Horrors is part-way through its UK tour. Taking in around 100 theatres, 2017 was hugely successful for the show, performing in more theatres than virtually any other show, being featured in huge music festivals around the world and once again becoming front page news.
The brand new show Voodoo includes an amazing amalgamation of bizarre, brave and beautiful acts, a rock’n’roll sound scape of mainly original songs and performed with a forked tongue firmly in each cheek.
CIRCUS 250
2018 will be a huge time for circus as we celebrate 250 years since its birth in London. The brain child of Sergeant Major Philip Astley, the father of modern circus, Astley’s vision and invention went on to become a major art form throughout the world ever since.
However, circus has changed more in the past 30 years than in its proud 250-year history, with the emergence of Cirque Du Soleil, Circus Archaos and, from the UK, The Circus of Horrors.
It is certain that ‘circus’, and its relevance in 2018, will become a talking point throughout the year and The Circus of Horrors, the UK’s front runner in contemporary/alternative circus, is sure to feature heavily.
VOTE DR. HAZE
Did you know? In 2017, Dr. Haze stood as a Parliamentary candidate in Brighton, preferring to be known as an Alternative as opposed to an Independent candidate.
In addition to the 100-venue UK theatre tour, the COH has recently performed in Festivals throughout the world including Download, Reading, Leeds, Isle of White, T in the Park and more in the UK; Fuji Rock Festival in Japan (twice); Wacken festival in Germany; and shows in Chile, Uruguay, Holland, Belgium, Argentina, France, Italy, Ireland, Finland, Hong Kong and Moscow, where it created history by becoming the first UK Circus ever to perform in Russia. In addition, the show enjoyed an astounding 10 nights in London’s O2 arena.
It is not the first time, however, that The Circus of Horrors has created history. I became the only circus ever to reach the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, the first Circus to perform in London’s West End for over 100 years, and the only circus to perform in a single venue in London (The Roundhouse) for an astounding 24 weeks (the previous record was 17 weeks).
In addition to BGT, its appearances on various other TV shows have turned what set out as a cult show into a household name, without compromise – taking the extreme to the mainstream. Its TV credits now also boast The X Factor, The Slammer, Daybreak, Fairground Attractions, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Body Shockers, Fake Reaction, This Morning, Ant & Dec, The One Show, A Royal Command Performance & even an appearance on Judge Rinder.
The Circus of Horrors started its gruesome begging’s at the 1995 Glastonbury Festival and became an instant hit, touring all over the world from Chile to Chatham, Argentina to Aberdeen, and Japan to Jersey including festival appearances with Alice Cooper, Eminem, Motley Crue, Oasis, Iron Maiden, The Manic St Preachers, Foo Fighters, Muse, Rammstein and many more.
