Description Of Tango Moderno
So, this new production from tango stars Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace provided a fusion of latin, ballroom, ballet and street dance. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I wasn’t disappointed. The dancers supporting Flavia and Vincent demonstrated incredible energy which brought the stage to life and widened the appeal of the show to more than just classic tango lovers. There was a contemporary twist from vocalist Tom Parsons who acted as a narrator, singing well-known numbers in a busking style. The music ranged from classical to chart music so something for everyone.
Analysis Of Tango Moderno
For me, the highlights were Flavia and Vincent dancing to the Assassins Tango, which featured in the film Mr & Mrs Smith and included some amazing accordion playing, and also their positively joyful dance to Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You. The precision and technical ability of their dancing together was just breathtaking.
Furthermore, the music throughout was excellent with accomplished solos from violinist Oliver Lewis and singer (and dancer) Rebecca Lisewski whose renditions of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Bacharach’s A House Is Not A Home were just fabulous. Additionally, there was an underlying, tenuous storyline of love, finding partners, with a bit of help from Flav and Vinny and living happily ever after but to be honest, it wasn’t required.
Summary Of Tango Moderno
The best way that I can describe this show is: lovely! It’s a nice, pleasant and feel-good showcase of two amazing dancers at the peak of their powers. Anyone with an appreciation for the art of ballroom dance will enjoy this, I’m sure.
